Our eyes require essential nutrients to function optimally and maintain clarity of sight. A diet rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and omega-3s can significantly impact long-term eye health.


Key Nutrients for Eye Health:


Vitamin A is essential for photoreceptor function in the retina, supporting night vision and overall eye health. Some examples of foods with Vitamin A are: 


  • Carrots

  • Sweet Potatoes

  • Spinach


Vitamin C is found in high concentrations in the fluid around the eye, helping to prevent oxidative damage and support healthy blood vessels. Examples of foods with a good source of Vitamin C are:


  • Oranges

  • Broccoli

  • Bell Peppers


Omega-3 Fatty Acids contribute to the structure of cell membranes in the eyes, reduce inflammation, and help prevent dry eye syndrome. Foods that are a good source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids include:

  • Yoga: Certain yoga poses, such as downward dog and child's pose, increase blood circulation to the head, benefiting both eye health and mental clarity.


  • Chakra Balancing & the Third Eye: The third eye chakra (Ajna) is associated with intuition and insight. Practices like meditation, Reiki energy healing, and essential oils (such as frankincense and sandalwood)  enhance this inner vision.


  • Chiropractic: Specific spinal adjustments in the cervical spine increase blood flow and can un-pinch nerves. Spinal adjustments can enhance nervous system function and flow to the head, which in turn influences vision and perception. 


  • Acupuncture: Based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Chart, each of the five elements (fire, earth, water, wood, and metal) correlate with various eye structures. The 12 main organs of primary meridians have a relationship with the eye. Depending on the combination of points used, acupuncture can stimulate the eye’s internal re-wiring process, enhancing communication of all the structures involved with vision and interpretation (retina-optic nerve-brain), help maintain the Ocular Microbiome, and awaken sleeping photoreceptor cells. 

 

  • Craniosacral Therapy: A gentle technique that helps relieve tension within the cranial membranes, freeing up nerves necessary for eye movement and vision, and helps release cranial restrictions which create more room for vision tissues, organs, and glands of the eyes to do their perfect job for you so that you can see clearly. Craniosacral also provides the space you need to process and release emotional and spiritual events that hold the keys to your bright future.


  • Hypnosis: A powerful tool for reprogramming the subconscious mind, hypnosis can improve focus, reduce mental fog, and enhance both physical and spiritual vision.

Ways to Foster a Healthy Visionary Mindset:


  • Positive Visualization Exercises: Imagination exercises strengthen creativity and mental clarity. One way to improve visualization is to close your eyes and, without straining, stare up at your eyebrows. 


Give it a try. Close your eyes and create a mental movie of a moment in your bright future or see yourself in a peaceful environment, and then with your eyes closed, shift your eyes upward.  


  • Journaling: Writing down aspirations, thoughts, and reflections helps to put life in perspective,  develop a clearer life vision, and deepen self-awareness. To be even more successful, jot down an action step or two that will support your vision. End each day with gratitude by writing down supportive affirmations.   • Self-Hypnosis: Hypnosis is a state of mind where you are mentally alert but physically and emotionally calm. In a hypnotic state of mind, you turn on your parasympathetic nervous system, which increases nerve and blood flow to the organs and structures inside of your beautiful, bright head, enhancing functions like eyesight.  


Being in a hypnotic state of mind gifts us “peace of mind” in a “safe space” to connect spiritually.
